First Grade Caps Revised (continued)First, several backwards letters needed to be reversed: letters "S", "N", and "Q". New capitals "A", "I", and "T" were created to replace the existing forms. With the exception of the letter "t", all new lowercase letters were either adapted or invented. Then, these were lowered to match a consistent x-height. Finally, the characters "¢," "©," and "®" were added to the font. The illustration at left compares the original "First Grade Caps" (in grey) with the revised characters (in black.) With these updates, a potentially cumbersome font was successfully extended to serve a wider range of future applications. Return to Fonts collection |
