Confluence Upright vs. Regular

Upright - ABC

Regular - DEF

Confluence Upright is a rigid font, takes life seriously, maybe too much. It believes that if it works hard enough, stands tall enough, it might grow up to work on blue prints or technical drawings.

Created a year after Confluence Regular, the face wishes to outshine its big brother. (Tsk, tsk, he's such a slacker, look at him over there.) All the while, what it needs to do most is even out its widths, watch its line weights, and be less focused on it's baseline. Everything will be okay.

Confluence Regular is democratic. It leans to the left, not so republican as its younger sibling. However, this font ain't no slouch. A face that collects its thoughts and presents them calm and collected. Sometimes a touch insular - it's just "cool like that."

Even with it's relaxed, expressive disposition, It is the more mature of the two faces. It has received more revisions and enhancements over the years. What refinements it endures, it usually passes directly onto Confluence Upright.

Family Feud?

First came Regular, then came Upright. Do these two fonts ever see eye to eye? Yes of course! Even on the same page they get along well. Any differences are purely a device of their creator.

Regular - lowercase letters
