Confluence RegularThis is the font that started it all - that is - my interest in designing and building digital type. Late 1996, I was merely sketching the ancestors of these letters and wondering how it would come together. By the spring of '97 I had completed an entire font; and just in time to graduate from design school. The name "Confluence" means a coming together: juncture. I see this face as testament to what I had learned up to the time of graduation. Even now, new experience and new influence converge with the current form to result in a deeper understanding of the familiar face. Each new layer of refinement feels like another graduation. |
